Personal Entry No. 31
I'm sorry for maintaining such a faint presence here, but I have to write four essays (about 4,850 to 5,950 words total) by next Friday. Coincidentally, three of them are for a take-home exam that was given to us earlier today; this confirms my suspicions that my professor in that particular course is either a) confident in our abilities or b) devoid of a sense of time.

In addition to my voice lessons, I sang in a choir for the first time in over a year this semester--we performed Haydn's The Creation. It's a magnificent piece, even if the libretto is lacking in some parts.

Setting that aside, I feel fantastic and I'm still alive have been feeling very upbeat lately, since I'm set to go home for the Winter Break on the 18th. I also received positive word from my boss about picking my job back up over the holiday season, which is great news!

Unfortunately, I have yet to hear from Middlebury about my Summer Language School application, which I'm getting increasingly miserable about. Considering that I was accepted last year, and that I'm likely more qualified for entrance into the Russian School this year as I was then, the problem must be in my application materials. The thing is, "most of" my documents from last year are supposed to still be active, but I have no idea which ones those are--and which ones the school is waiting for in order for it to consider my application. On top of that, I've forgotten my password for their registration system again, and they don't have a password retrieval service. I'm definitely going to have to call the school if I want to actually attend this summer, but I can't help but think that I've shamed the family once again.

Of course, knowing my luck, my application will be completed just in time for Middlebury's financial aid to run out.

Also! If you got a virtual snowflake cookie without a message from me, then I apologize--I thought I could send another round with personalized messages yesterday, when I had more time, but LiveJournal apparently takes more than it gives. Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] lady_kikyou, [livejournal.com profile] vegetas, [livejournal.com profile] grprsa, [livejournal.com profile] mairenn_k, [livejournal.com profile] la_vie_noire, [livejournal.com profile] starlady38 and [livejournal.com profile] kencana_kencana for the messages and gifts! I'll have something up for everyone later tonight, before I'm crushed by the competing forces of procrastination and deadlines.
