We interrupt this page with a special announcement!

You've likely seen this already, but this is a contest to determine the best 2008/2009 iconmakers of LiveJournal! Go nominate and vote for your favorites (especially if they're any of the wonderful people on my affiliates list).

Setting that aside, I've noticed so many problems in my second Fanbook submission that I'll weep with shame if I can't alter it or replace it. Hm. Anyway, here are the photographs of the cranes from before--six of them were sold, along with one luna moth, so their display looks a little bit more bare than it was two days ago. The photos aren't anywhere near my best work, but I hope they give you all an idea of what the display looked like.

Personal Entry No. 12
Today is...yard-sale day. The front yard has been filled with complete strangers since 7:30 AM, and I still have to go to work at 3:00. Even so, we've apparently sold a lot of things, which is all the better for us, right? I folded seventeen cranes, four luna moths, and two tigerwing butterflies to sell, both to get some more money for textbooks and to note the anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. (The moths and the butterflies are there as a technical accomplishment, since they were designed by the astounding Michael G. LaFosse. Hopefully I'll be able to take pictures, should they not sell by the end of the day.)

On August 9 64 years ago, the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. )

On a much lighter note, I finished the costume design. )
